Southern Irelands' Cork Airport was the site of a plane crash. Of the 12 passengers and crew on board, 6 were killed and 6 injured. Arriving from Belfast, the plane was making it's third attempt to land, but foggy conditions led to the crash. The airport and the roads surrounding it had already been closed.
Due to land at Cork Airport at 9:45 a.m., the airport said. Northern Ireland's First Minister Peter Robinson
said that his thoughts were "with the families of the bereaved. My thoughts are also with the injured and I hope that they will make a full and speedy recovery."
