64-year old soul artist, Marvin Sease, singer of X-rated "Candy Licker", died yesterday of pneumonia.

Marvin sease dies of pneumonia at 64

Singing songs that were too explicit to be accepted on mainstream radio, Sease had a black club circuit in the southern States, especially appealing to female fans.

Though his origins were in Gospel music, with the Five Gospel Crowns in Blackville, South Carolina.

In 1966, he moved to New York, in the group "Seas", made up of him and his three brothers. It didn't take long before he went solo. He recorded his first album, containing hit "Ghetto Man" in 1986. This self-titled record was eventually expanded to include the famed "Candy Licker" in 1987 when Sease signed with Polygram.

He recorded more albums but none quite reached the fame of 1986. "Tonight," barely registered at the bottom of the charts in 1991. Being on the top isn't the only reason to sing, as Sease' many fans will attest to.
